"Rei-Chan!" Minako called, knocking on the door for Rei's apartment. She bounced on the balls of her feet, holding a bag with Kotetsu's bucket of fried chicken. When the door didn't open immediately, Minako bit her lip and tried not to think about Kotetsu's missing partner or the ring he'd never hold out and use to propose. The idea of being left behind, of being without her comrade stung at her.
Nervously, Minako knocked again, trying not to let hysteria take her over. It had been barely a minute.
"Rei-Chan?" she repeated, trying not to sound nervous. "It's Minako! I got Christmas fried chicken!"
Please be inside, she prayed a little, even as she tried to tell herself she was being absurd..
